Episode 392: Michaela Garecht
Michaela Garecht was enjoying the start to her Thanksgiving break in November 1988 when she and her best friend rode their scooters to the market in Hayward, California. As they left, the 9 year old girls noticed that Michaela’s scooter was not at the entrance, but had been moved to the parking lot. As she went to grab her scooter, a man jumped out of the van next to her and in one fell swoop, threw her into the van and drove off. Unfortunately, Michaela has never been found, but after over three decades as a cold case, in 2020 a man was charged with her murder. David Misch, a convicted murderer, is awaiting trial for Michaela’s abduction and murder and hopefully soon, she will get the justice she deserves.
