Episode 329: The Dating Game Killer

In the 1970s, serial killer Rodney Alcala killed at least 7 people in California, New York, and likely many other states. When he was arrested, hundreds of photographs of men, women, and children were found that he had taken as a “professional photographer”, and many were extremely explicit. While he was eventually convicted of 7 murders and other crimes, it is believed the hundreds of unidentified subjects of his photographs could be victims of Alcala’s that are currently cold cases. Here are the photos that have been shared with the police asking for the public’s help in identifying the people in them. If you have information about the identities of the people in the photographs, you can contact Sgt. Sam Shepherd with the Huntington Beach Police Department at (714) 536-5947.
